PM Vishwakarma Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme, that was launched on 17th September 2023 by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
The Scheme aims to provide end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople of 18 trades who work with their hands and tools. The Scheme components include recognition through PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID Card, Skill Upgradation, Toolkit Incentive, Credit Support, Incentive for Digital Transactions and Marketing Support. The Scheme has been rolled out across the country and its benefits have been initiated.

PM Vishwakarma Scheme Details:
- PM Vishwakarma is a Central Sector Scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
- Initially, the scheme will be implemented for five years up to 2027-28.
- The required documents are an Aadhaar, mobile number, bank details, and Ration card, which are mandatory for registration.
- Artisans or craftspersons working with hands and tools, engaged in an unorganized sector on a self-employment basis are eligible for the scheme.
- On the date of registration for the scheme, the minimum age of the applicant should be 18 years.
- The registration and benefits under the Scheme shall be restricted to one member per family.

- The certificate will enable the applicants’ recognition as a Vishwakarma, making them eligible to avail of all the benefits under the Scheme.

Who is Eligible for PM Vishwakarma Scheme?
- The applicant should be an artisan or craftsperson working with hands and tools.
- The applicant should be engaged in an unorganized sector on a self-employment basis
- The applicant should be engaged in one of the 18 family-based traditional trades mentioned in the scheme.
- The minimum age of an applicant should be 18 years on the date of registration.

- The applicant should not have availed loans under similar credit-based schemes of the Central Government or State Government for self-employment/ business development, e.g. PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, Mudra, in the past 5 years.

PM Vishwakarma Scheme Registration Process:
The eligible beneficiaries are required to get themselves enrolled through the nearest CSC in their area. The beneficiary can apply either on their own or with the help of the CSCs through Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) or Enumerators.
Step-1: Open the website https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in/ and click on the “login” drop down.Then click “CSC – Register Artisans”.
Step-2: On the “Registration Now” Page, answer the Set of Questions as Yes/No, and click “Continue”.
Step-3: On the “Aadhaar Verification” Page, enter the 6-digit OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked Mobile Number. Click “Continue”.
Step-4: On the next page, enter your Aadhaar Number and the Aadhaar Registered Mobile Number. Click “Continue”.
Step 5: Visit your nearest CSC and complete the Biometric Verification Process.
Step 6: In the Online Application Form, fill in all the mandatory details, and click “Submit”.
Step 7: In the next screen, note down the “Application Number” for future reference. Click “Done”.

The Government is providing collateral-free Enterprise Development Loans of ₹ 1,00,000 (First Tranche for 18 months repayment) & ₹ 2,00,000 (Second Tranche for 30 months repayment) under PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
PM Vishwakarma Scheme Benefits:
- Recognition and Certification: Recognition of traditional skills and crafts, along with certification to boost the credibility and market value of artisans’ work.
- Skill Upgradation: Skill verification is followed by a 5-7 day (40-hour) basic training, and interested candidates can also opt for a 15-day (120-hour) advanced training, with a training stipend of ₹500 per day.
- Toolkit Incentive: ₹ 15,000 grant
- Financial Assistance: Collateral-free enterprise development loans include ₹1,00,000 (first tranche with 18 months repayment) and ₹2,00,000 (second tranche with 30 months repayment) at a concessional interest rate of 5%, with an 8% interest subvention paid by MoMSME, and credit guarantee fees covered by the Government of India.
