In case you can’t pay your E-challan online, you can try using the virtual court payment option. It’s a way to handle your case without going to a physical court. Once you get a text message about your case, you can check the virtual court website to pay. Sometimes, it might take a few days for the website to update after you get the text. If you can’t find your case right away, wait for about a week.

How to find your challan on the virtual court website.

Go to the court’s website :
- When you arrive at the website, you’ll first need to pick your state from the dropdown menu. If you don’t see your state listed, don’t worry; it only shows the states where virtual court facilities are available. Just make sure to select your state accurately from the provided options.

There are 4 options to search your case.
- Mobile Number: You can search by using your phone number.

- Challan / Vehicle No: You can Search by your challan number or by using the vehicle number.

- Party Name: You can also search by using your name. (This is the name of the party against whom the case is filed generally it is Government of Uttar Pradesh vs. You)

- CNR Number: CNR is a unique number assigned to each case filed in district and taluka courts.

Once you fill in your details and press the submit button you will be able to see the details of your case.
After selecting the ‘View’ button, a comprehensive breakdown of your case will be presented, along with the option to settle it. Opting to ‘I wish to pay the proposed fine’ initiates the process. Subsequently, you’ll be prompted to verify your phone number through an OTP. Upon entering the received OTP and acknowledging the terms and conditions, you can proceed to make the payment. Clicking ‘Proceed with net-payment’ in the ensuing pop-up seamlessly transitions you to the payment page. Here, you can conveniently settle the fine using various methods including credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.

Once your payment is successfully processed, you’ll seamlessly be redirected back to the virtual court website. Here, you’ll have the satisfaction of printing out the final receipt, serving as tangible proof of your transaction. This receipt not only acts as confirmation of your payment but also signifies the closure of your case, bringing a sense of resolution and closure. It’s a simple yet crucial step in concluding your legal obligations, ensuring all documentation is in order for your records.
If you don’t find your case on the website after several days, you must visit the physical court. The ideal time to be in the court is between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. This is when you just might be able to find someone, who is attending to e-challans and may be able to help you out with the process.
